I called this a Parents Protection Plan, not a Children Protection Plan, on purpose. Protect the parent and you protect the child. Children survive without their parents. The question is what kind of survival that turns out to be, and that depends entirely on what the parents put in place. Three questions decide it: who raises them, who controls the money, and what exactly they inherit and on what terms.
What I Said
From my September 10 Parents Edition workshop at the Cambria Hotel in Calabasas, lightly edited for readability.
The questions that we're gonna talk about are: Who will raise our children? We advertised and marketed this event as a seminar for families with children. And if you notice, the name of it is Parents Protection Plan, not Children Protection Plan. Because if we protect the parent, it means we're protecting children. Because children without us, of course they will survive. But what kind of survival is it gonna be?
So it depends on us as parents how our kids will be raised and what happens to them in case of emergency. And the questions that we're gonna talk about are: Who will raise our children? Who controls the money? And what exactly will kids inherit, and on what terms?
