I encourage every client to write a letter to the guardian. What kind of school. What activities. Which church. What kind of vacations. My kid is lactose intolerant. The things that not everybody would know, so that whoever comes next can take better care of your child than a stranger could.
What I Said
From my September 10 Parents Edition workshop at the Cambria Hotel in Calabasas, lightly edited for readability.
Usually I encourage my clients to write letters to the guardian: "Hey, I want my kid to go to this type of school. I want my kid to be engaged in this type of extracurricular activities. I want these types of vacation, this church."
"My kid is lactose intolerant." You know, things that not everybody will know, but you give as much as possible the knowledge about your child, so whoever comes next, they can take better care of them.
